I am, in spirit, just as Jesus is – in all of His glory, power and perfection.
Can this be true? Is it arrogant to make such a claim?
“.. as He is, so are we in this world” (1 John 4:17)
As Jesus IS, so are we in THIS world.
Right now, is Jesus sick, depressed, sad, impoverished, or defeated?
Does this mean that as a Christian I should merely endure this life and patiently wait until I die before I can experience peace, joy, happiness or fulfillment?
One in Spirit
Even though my body and soul (mind and emotions) are constrained by this corrupt world and our sinful nature, my spirit is one with Jesus. My born-again spirit cannot be physically seen, emotionally felt, or intellectually perceived. However, God’s Word is clear that I have received the Spirit of Christ when I accepted Him as my Savior.
1 Corinthians 6:17 - But he that is joined unto the Lord is one spirit.
Romans 8:9 - But ye are not in the flesh, but in the Spirit, if so be that the Spirit of God dwell in you. Now if any man have not the Spirit of Christ, he is none of his.
Galatians 4:6 - And because ye are sons, God hath sent forth the Spirit of his Son into your hearts, crying, Abba, Father.
2 Corinthians 5:17 - Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.
Ephesians 4:20 - put off concerning the former conversation the old man, which is corrupt according to the deceitful lusts; And be renewed in the spirit of your mind; And that ye put on the new man, which after God is created in righteousness and true holiness.
“Just thinking this awesome thought once won’t instantaneously change everything in your life. It’s a process! As the seed of this truth becomes firmly rooted and established in your mind, a process of understanding, growing, and maturing begins in your soulish realm.” ~Andrew Wommack, Spirit, Soul & Body
How do I get this revelation to manifest itself in my life here and now?
It is sad that many Christians never realize the awesome nature of the free gift of salvation that they receive when they accept Jesus Christ. They are born-again and ensured of eternal life, but then they continue to be carnally minded, thereby remaining victimized and trapped by its deadly effects.
Romans 8:6 - For to be carnally minded is death; but to be spiritually minded is life and peace.
When we become spiritually minded, we have access to a blessed life of peace, joy and every other promise God has given us in His Word.
Romans 12:2 - And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.
