God Thinks About Me?

For I know the thought that I think towards you, says the Lord
thoughts of peace and not evil
to give you a future and a hope
Then you will call upon Me, and go and pray to Me,
and I will listen to you.
And you will seek Me, and find Me
when you search for me with all your heart.
(Jeremiah 29:11-13)

God has pre-ordained a "future and a hope"  -  an expected outcome  -  for us, and the entire journey is one of "shalom"  -  nothing missing, nothing broken.

We never ever have to doubt God's intentions towards us.  His intentions are always good and the things that He brings about in our lives are ALWAYS good things, edifying and meant to be a blessing.

We should never accuse God of causing calamity in our lies, nor blame Him for temptation and challenges that we might face.

"Let no man say when he is tempted, "I am tempted by God"
for God cannot be tempted by evil, nor does He Himself tempt anyone.
But each one is tempted when he is drawn away by his own desires and enticed.

Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above
and comes down from the Father of lights
with whom there is no variation of shadow of turning."
(James 1:13-14)

I've been guilty in the past of thinking that God has brought a specific problem or difficult circumstance into my life for whatever purpose it might be - to teach me a lesson, to encourage spiritual growth, etc.
Now I realize that I have been guilty of wrong thinking.  God's Word is clear that He is NOT the author of evil.  He does not cause calamity in my life, nor does He bring temptation to my doorstep.    He only brings every good and every perfect gift, because it is His desire to bless His children.

"God is light and in Him is no darkness at all"
(1 John 1:5)

It is not God's WILL for His children to suffer.  God is not trying to punish us by causing illness or troubled circumstances either.  The punishment for our sin has been executed in Jesus Christ's sacrifice on the cross.

It is never God who withdraws from us or withholds blessings based on our behavior.  If there is darkness in my life, it is because I have withdrawn from God, allowed the world and it's enticements to distract me from what is important, or because I have given Satan permission to influence me for evil.   It is true that we live in a corrupt world and that we cannot escape trouble at all times, however God is not the author of troubled circumstances.  In many cases, I am the cause, and only I can reverse the situation by turning back to God.

God is light and He desires to have fellowship with His children.  When we search for Him with all our heart, and keep our mind focused on Him we will always walk in the light, despite the darkness of this world.

"Thy Word is a lamp unto my feet
and a light unto my path."
(Psalm 119:105)
